PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast recording apparatus, a broadcast recording and reproducing apparatus, and a broadcast recording and reproducing method, capable of informing of the recording state of a video image file prior to reproduction, in advance. SOLUTION: The broadcast recording apparatus includes a tuner section for receiving a broadcast signal, demodulating the broadcast signal, and outputting a reproducted signal; a monitor section for monitoring the receiving state of the tuner section and outputting a time series video recording state discrimination signal; and a recording section for recording the reproduction signal, outputted from the tuner section and a time-series video recording state discrimination signal, outputted from the monitor section to storage areas.
