A portable device and a method for supporting plural operating systems are provided to allocate a BIOS(Basic Input Output System) to each of the operating systems and boot a selected operating system according to the BIOS corresponding to the selected operating system. A portable device supporting plural operating systems includes plural operating systems(12,22,24), BIOSs corresponding to the operating systems, a selector(30) for selecting one of the operating systems, and a pre-processing BIOS(44) for loading a corresponding BIOS to a memory(50) to boot the operating system selected by the selector. The pre-processing BIOS loads the BIOS according to a boot flag or the operation of the selector.
