<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which can secure superior focusing by suppressing the deformations of the focusing mirror, having an off-axial reflecting surface as an image focusing element and being attained of small size. <P>SOLUTION: This reader reads image information by making a scanning unit mounting an optical system composed of a light source, an imaging mirror 201, and a mirror holder 207 move. The reader is positioned and fixed to the mirror holder 207 at the fixing sections 203, provided at both ends of the reflecting surface of the imaging mirror 201. The fixing sections 203 of the imaging mirror 201 have strength or rigidity formed smaller than those of the reflecting surface section. Thus, deformation is absorbed by fixing sections 203 of both ends that is smaller in strength and rigidity than those of the reflecting surface, when fixing the imaging mirror 201 to the mirror holder 207. Since the imaging mirror 201 is positioned on the mirror holder 207 without deformation of the reflecting surface the degradation of imaging performance due to deformation of the reflecting surface can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
