摘要 <p>[PROBLEMS] The invention aims at obtaining a glass which has a coefficient of thermal expansion of 40 OE10&lt;SUP&gt;-7&lt;/SUP&gt; to 50 OE10&lt;SUP&gt;-7&lt;/SUP&gt;/°C and which has viscosity characteristics favorable for stable production of thin and large-sized glass substrates and is suitable for TFT-LCD's, particularly a-Si TFT-LCD's. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A nonalkaline glass, characterized by having a glass composition consisting of by mass 45 to 65% SiO&lt;SUB&gt;2&lt;/SUB&gt;, 12 to 17% Al&lt;SUB&gt;2&lt;/SUB&gt;O&lt;SUB&gt;3&lt;/SUB&gt;, 7.5 to 15% B&lt;SUB&gt;2&lt;/SUB&gt;O&lt;SUB&gt;3&lt;/SUB&gt;, 0 to 3% MgO, 5.5 to 15% CaO, 0 to 5% SrO, 5 to 15% BaO, 0 to 5% ZnO, 15 to 23% (MgO+CaO+SrO+BaO+ZnO), 0 to 5% ZrO&lt;SUB&gt;2&lt;/SUB&gt;, 0 to 5% TiO&lt;SUB&gt;2&lt;/SUB&gt; and 0 to 5% P&lt;SUB&gt;2&lt;/SUB&gt;O&lt;SUB&gt;5,&lt;/SUB&gt;being substantially free from alkali metal oxides, and having a (CaO+BaO-MgO)/SiO&lt;SUB&gt;2&lt;/SUB&gt; value by mass fraction of 0.25 to 0.4 and a mean coefficient of thermal expansion of 40 OE10&lt;SUP&gt;-7&lt;/SUP&gt; to 50 OE10&lt;SUP&gt;-7&lt;/SUP&gt;/°C over the temperature range of 30 to 380°C.</p>
