PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract a term group and relation between terms from a document database of a hypermedia format with high accuracy in consideration of even a type of a document. SOLUTION: A hypermedia reference means 3 reads an indicated range in the hypermedia database 1 and writes a partial hypermedia storage means 4. A document type determination means 9 determines the type of each document in the partial hypermedia storage means 4 and writes in a document type storage means 10. A term extraction means 11 analyzes contents of each document in the partial hypermedia storage means 4 according to the types of the document stored in the document type storage means 10 to extract the terms and to write them in a term storage means 6. A term relating means 12 decides the relation between the terms in the term storage means 6 based on the type of the document in the document type storage means 10 and link information in the partial hypermedia storage means 4.
