PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for measurement or assessment of at least one quantity parameter and/or at least one quality parameter of biological particles in a liquid analyte material. SOLUTION: Based on an arrangement of the sample, in a manner such that the sample spreads thinly in a "window" of a substantial area, and detection of a signal from the sample in the form of an "image" on a detecting element array, the detecting element array includes individual elements, capable of sensing a part of the sample window area, respectively, and the array can sense a signal from substantially the sample window area as a whole, or at least a satisfactorily regulated portion of the sample window area as a whole.
