<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a start control device of an internal combustion engine capable of avoiding any defective start caused by vapor without unnecessarily operating a fuel pump. <P>SOLUTION: An engine ECU stores a map specifying three zones of a high-temperature high-pressure zone (1), a low-temperature low-pressure zone (3), and an intermediate zone (2) therebetween according to the temperature and the pressure of a fuel, and the saturated vapor pressure of the fuel. When the start of an engine is requested (YES in S100), the engine ECU detects the temperature THW of an engine cooling water and the fuel pressure P (S200). If the detected values belong to the zone (2) (YES in S300), the engine ECU sets the pre-feed time T (S400), and executes a program including a step (S700) of executing the pre-feed until the fuel pressure P reaches or exceeds the desired fuel pressure threshold P (TH), and a step (S800) of starting the cranking when the fuel pressure P reaches or exceeds the fuel pressure threshold P (TH) (YES in S700). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
