PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate for a display device in which auxiliary capacity is formed by superposing scanning lines and pixel electrodes one on the other without lowering manufacture yield and which can have a high aperture rate. SOLUTION: The substrate for the display device is provided with scanning lines (111), 1st insulating films (115) and (117) thereon, semiconductor films (120) thereon, thin-film transistors (112) each including a source electrode (126b) and a drain electrode (126a) electrically connected to the semiconductor films (120), signal lines (110) which are led out of the drain electrodes (126a) and cross the scanning lines (111) almost at right angles, and pixel electrodes (131) which are electrically connected to the source electrodes (126b); wherein the pixel electrodes (131) are electrically connected to the source electrodes (126b) through 2nd insulating films (127) arranged on at least the signal lines (110) and the pixel electrodes (131) are overlapped on areas (113) extended from adjacent scanning lines (111) across 1st and 2nd insulating films (115), (117), and (127).
