PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ear tag having a structure preventing the tearing off of an ear capsule of livestock such as cattle and preventing the reutilization of the ear capsule itself. SOLUTION: The ear tag is obtained as follows. The ear tag is attached to an ear of the livestock, particularly the cattle and is composed of a pair of plates having a means for identifying the individual cattle. The ear tag is composed of a spear-like part provided in one plate and an engaging part provided in the other plate for pushing in the spear-like part to be engaged therewith.
