PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrial method for subjecting a nucleophilic group-containing alkene compound to intramolecular circularization by a simple method for reusing a catalyst. SOLUTION: The method for producing a cyclic compound comprises bringing a nucleophilic group-containing alkene compound represented by general formula (1) (R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is an alkyl group or an alkoxy group; A is an alkylene group; X is any one kind of a nucleophilic group selected from the group consisting of an OH group, an SH group, an NH<SB>2</SB>group and a COOH group and the alkyl group, the aryl group, the aralkyl group and the alkoxy group each may be substituted with a hydrogen atom; R<SP>2</SP>and A may form a ring) into contact with an aluminosilicate to undergo intramolecular circularization.
