<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding type constant velocity universal joint with improved fatigue strength. <P>SOLUTION: In this sliding type constant velocity universal joint, at least an outside member 51 has a composition containing: C: 0.45-0.55 mass%, Si: 0.05 mass% or less, Mn: 0.55-0.65 mass%, P: 0.020 mass% or less, S: 0.002-0.015 mass%, Mo: 0.35-0.45 mass%, Al: 0.02-0.05 mass%, Cu: 1.0 mass% or less, Ti: 0.015-0.030 mass%, and B: 0.0015-0.0030 mass%, with the remainder being Fe and unavoidable impurities. By a plurality of processings in a temperature range of 650 to 730°C, a base material composition on the outer peripheral side of a mouth part of the outside member 51 contains a bainite phase area ratio of 15-30%, and a recrystallized ferrite composition fraction of 10% or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
