PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely catch a sewing thread by means of a thread catching hook, and form stitches at a space in a machine bed. SOLUTION: A hook 13, a half rotation shuttle 200, and a thread extension actuator 401 are cooperated to form hand stitches on the surface of a subject piece, and lock stitches on the back surface as skipped stitch sets. The subject piece is fed by the stitch pitch for forming hand stitches by a feed dog 601 at a first stroke of the hook 13. The subject piece is fed by the stitch-to-stitch pitch as an interval between the hand stitches by the feed dog 601 at a second stroke of the hook 13. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
