PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL (electroluminescence) element which exhibits a high emission efficiency and superior stability in repeated use. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescence element is made by forming an emission layer or a plurality of organic compound thin films including the emission layer between a pair of electrodes consisting of an anode and a cathode. The emission layer is made of host materials and dopant materials. One or more kinds of materials out of the dopant materials is the compound represented by the general formula [1] (where each of R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>28</SP>denote a hydrogen atom or a substituent independently), and one or more kinds of materials out of the host materials is the compound represented by the general formula [2] (where each of Z<SP>1</SP>to Z<SP>14</SP>denote a hydrogen atom or a substituent independently).
