PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk type imaging apparatus such as a video camera which even when largely turned or moved back and forth at low speed in the horizontal direction, enables the recording operation thereof to be controlled using a hand movement detecting sensor mounted on an ordinary apparatus. SOLUTION: The disk type imaging apparatus 1 which records an imaged image on a disk type recording medium 14 includes: gyro sensors 3, 4 which detect vibration due to hand movement and gyro moment caused by horizontal movement of the apparatus body; a detection signal judging part 7 which compares the detection signal levels from the gyro sensors 3, 4 with a threshold value, in a frequency band lower than that of vibration due to the above hand movement and outputs a gyro detection signal showing that the level of the detected signal exceeds the threshold value to a recording control part 12; and the recording control part 12 which receives the gyro detection signal from the detection signal judging part 7 and temporarily halts recording a data on the disk type recording medium 14.
