The furnace feed for manufacturing the lightweight items from Volastonit contains (mass %): calcium carbonate 33-49, quartz sand with the specific surface of 4000 cm2/g 30-35, half-hydrated gypsum 20-30, the mineral supplement (acetate and/or nitrate of alkaline metals: Li+, Na+, K+ and/or their mixture 1-2. The use of such furnace feed provides for manufacturing the fireproof items of the increased durability due to the increased Volastonit yield. The items manufactured may be used for insulation of the industrial furnaces including those in aluminum industry.
