METHOD FOR SIMULATING A RESPONSE TO A STIMULUS

A method of simulating a response to a stimulus is disclosed. In one embodiment, a differential equation having a parameter that is dependent on the fraction of the response that has occurred, is provided to model a response to a stimulus (300). Values for the parameters of the differential equation are then provided (310) by any characterization of the system and its components. These characterizations may include mathematical, chemical, physical analysis or experimentation. Instructions are then executed by a computer to numerically integrate the differential equation (320). The results of the numerical integration are used to produce an analysis (330) of the stimulus-response system. The analysis may include evaluation, optimization, prediction and sensitivity of any part of the stimulus-response system.
