An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a driving method thereof are provided to prevent damage to a data driver of the LCD device by preventing a load signal for controlling data output from being output when an error occurs during operation. A liquid crystal display device includes a data driver(60), a timing controller(10), and a load signal controller. The data driver supplies data to an LCD panel. The timing controller generates a load signal for controlling the data output, and outputs the load signal. The load signal controller controls the load signal, which is supplied to the data driver, by using a ready signal. The ready signal is used to indicate a normal operation of the timing controller.
