PROCESS FOR PRODUCING BOTTLE OF BIAXIALLY ORIENTED POLYESTER

In this process for producing a bottle of biaxially oriented polyester, during drawing by means of stretch load, a blow air is caused to flow into the interior of a preform at a flow rate preventing contact of the preform with parts other than distal end of the stretch load and with the surface of metal mold, so that the average thickness thereof can be reduced to about 0.05 to 0.2 mm, or less. Thus, a bottle of biaxially oriented polyester rendered lightweight through reduction of the amount of resin used can be efficiently molded with high yield in high productivity without the occurrence of burst, whitening due to excess drawing, or ringed thick wall part.
