PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based metallic coating material for automobile interior materials which is excellent in adhesiveness with raw materials and oil and fat resistance even in one coat finished metallic coating film, and further, has high alkali resistance, for example, is free from blushing or discoloration even against a highly concentrated aqueous alkaline solution. SOLUTION: The water-based metallic coating material containing a metallic pigment and a vehicle essentially containing isobornyl methacrylate as a monomer component and free from styrene for automobile interior materials contains (A) a 1st aqueous dispersed acrylic resin with a theoretical Tg of 80-140°C, an acid value of 10-25 mg KOH/g and an SP value of 9.5-10.0 with no surfactant and (B) a 2nd aqueous dispersed resin prepared by dispersion of an acid-denatured chlorinated polyolefin resin having an acid modification amount of 1.6-2.5 mass%, a chlorination degree of 18-25% and a wt. average molecular wt. of 50,000-80,000.
