<p>An exercise apparatus (10) comprises a generally rectangular frame (12) having a head end (14), a foot end and a pair of spaced apart parallel track members (18). A movable carriage (22) is mounted on said frame (12) for movement along said track members (18) between said ends (14, 16). Said carriage (22) has a flat upper surface, a pair of spaced shoulder stops and a head rest. Pluralities of elongated elastic members (30) extend between said carriage (22) and said foot end (14). A foot rest assembly mounted to said frame (12) near said foot end (16) has a rotatably supported foot rest bar (32), which is supported by a U shaped bar support (38) having leg portions fastened to the foot rest bar (32) and a straight portion (40) between the leg portions (42). The straight portion (40) is received in a slot (48) formed in a foot rest bar support bracket (44) fastened to the foot end (16).
