A plasma display panel is provided to increase a color reproduction area and to improve color purity by absorbing orange-colored light generated from discharge cells. Visible rays penetrate a front substrate(111). A part of the front substrate is colored with a first color. The front substrate includes a first material for absorbing selectively light having a wavelength of 580nm to 590nm. A rear substrate(121) is opposite to the front substrate. A barrier rib(130) is disposed between the front and the rear substrates in order to define a plurality of discharge cells. The barrier rib is colored with a second color. The first and the second colors are subtracted from each other and are mixed with each other.
