<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem, wherein when an SR (switched reluctance) motor is driven at a low speed and high torque, the time rate of change rate dI/dt of the current flowing to motor coil is increased due to the magnetic saturation of a core of the motor, and the current control becomes difficult to conduct. <P>SOLUTION: This drive unit of the SR motor includes variable coils (SL1-3) that are connected to the motor coils (ML1 to ML3) of the SR motor, and is increased in inductance, when the current flowing to the variable coil becomes large; and the current, flowing to the variable coil, is biased magnetically in the reverse direction by making the core (CA) wound with the variable coil contact a permanent magnet (Mg). According to this constitution, current ripples of the motor can be reduced, since the time change rate of the current is decreased; and as a result, torque ripples are suppressed and sound vibration is reduced, and the effect of the noise being suppressed is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
