A method and an apparatus for displaying a phone number are provided to display an image together with a phone number when a user searches for the phone number, thereby allowing the user to know conversation interval time. The final conversation time is stored according to names stored in a phone number(S301). The final conversation time is displayed together with the names if the names are displayed. The final conversation time includes at least one of a date, a time, a minute, and a second. The difference between a present time and the final conversation time is calculated, and the calculated result is displayed together the names(S303). A corresponding image is displayed together with the name according to the calculated result. The image is stored according to preset time intervals. The image and the time intervals are set by a user.
