A method for storing a DVD(Digital Versatile Disk) title is provided to reduce a load in a device by recording data read from a DVD in the second recording area, compressing the data stored in the second recording area as an MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group), and recording the compressed data in the first recording area of a hard disc. A control unit receives a key signal for a copy key in order to store data read from a DVD player in an HDD(Hard Disc Drive)(S300). The control unit records the data read from the DVD player in the second recording area of a hard disc in the HDD(S302). The microcomputer compresses the data stored in the second recording area in an MPEG format(S304,S306). The control unit stores the compressed data in the first recording area of the hard disc(S308). The control unit deletes the data stored in the second recording area(S310).
