PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method for removing harmful substances in artificial zeolite, by which the harmful substances are eluted, removed and separated from the zeolite by applying a specific treatment to the zeolite and the zeolite from which harmful substances are not eluted to a surrounding environment can be obtained. SOLUTION: The zeolite, obtained by a reaction of a raw material and an alkali solution, is mixed with water and made into a slurry. Further, an acid solution is added to the slurry to neutralize residual alkali content sticking on the zeolite, and at the same time, the harmful substances contained in the zeolite are eluted from the zeolite into the solution by allowing the zeolite to exist in an acid solution having a predetermined pH. Thereby, the harmful substances can be separated from the zeolite together with the solution when the zeolite is finally taken out of the solution, the elution of the harmful substances from the zeolite can be prevented in a state that the zeolite is used as product, and the contamination of the surrounding environment caused by the harmful substances can be prevented in a site where the zeolite is used.
