PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a device capable of simultaneously detecting a clearance between a sheet material bundle and a side regulating means and the existence of a sheet material on a sheet material loading member. SOLUTION: The side regulating means 4 is provided with a detecting means 5 detecting the existence of the sheet material in a sheet material butting surface position, and projects a wall member 6 switching a detecting state of the detecting means 5 from a sheet material butting surface of the side regulating means 4. When carrying the sheet material by approaching the side regulating means 4 to an edge part of the sheet material, the detecting state of the detecting means 5 is switched by pushing in the wall member 6 by the sheet material or the bundle edge, and the detecting means 5 can simultaneously detect the clearance between the sheet material or its bundle and the side regulating means 4 and the existence of the sheet material on the sheet material loading member 3.
