PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for modeling a model of a region (an article) in calculation data. SOLUTION: During a model deformation processing (steps S13-S18) using a plurality of standard models, a modeling device carries out deformation of each standard model using an evaluation function introducing components deteriorating due to mutual approach of the standard models. By doing so, duplication due to mutual contact or intersection of the standard models is avoided and an appropriate extraction object region is stably extracted. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
