PURPOSE:To easily form a recording material for displaying temperatures of different shapes and sizes of characters or figures or effective for a decoration by incorporating thermal discoloring composition in a heat fusible ink layer. CONSTITUTION:In order to form a heat sensitive transfer material, only thermal fusible vehicle is, for example, formed on a base material by a hot melt coating method or the like to form in advance a thermal fusible layer, coated with a thermal discoloring composition as it is, or diluted with solvent, and coated to form a thermal discoloring layer, and the fusible vehicle layer is formed further on the upper layer by solvent coating. The composition includes cholesteric liquid crystal, electron donating coloring composition, and inorganic and organic complex thermal discoloring compound, etc., and the coloring composition contains leuco of dye, phenols and solvent. The liquid crystal and the coloring composition are preferably microcapsuled from the view point of coating adaptability and preservation stability, and as the vehicle wax having less coloring and thermoplastic resin are employed. |
