PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semi-permeable membrane having high solute removing property, high water permeability, high durability, high productivity, and its production method. SOLUTION: The processing method of the semi-permeable composite membrane and its production method comprise a process for bringing the semi-permeable composite membrane having a polyamide separation function layer comprising a multi-functional amine compound and a multi-functional halogen compound formed on a fine porous support membrane into contact with a reagent forming a diazonium salt or its derivatives reacting with a primary amino group, and bringing into contact with hot water of 40-80°C; and a process for bringing the semi-permeable composite membrane into contact with a reagent reactive with the diazonium salt.
