PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guiding apparatus which appropriately guides a user walking for comparatively a long distance to a destination by means of sounds. SOLUTION: N pieces (n is plural) of speakers are arranged in linear or planer fashion to form a speaker array 10. The speaker array is disposed above a pedestrian crossing 1 so that an emission face of each speaker is oriented to the pedestrian crossing 1 below. In order to help the movement of a visually impaired person crossing the pedestrian crossing 1, a guidance sound generation section 20 outputs to the speaker array 10 under the control of a control section 30 a sound beam of a guidance sound having a focal position on a starting point of a travel path 1a at the height of a person crossing the pedestrian crossing 1 and a sound beam of a guidance sound having a focal position that travels along with the travel path 1a.
