<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing member for a badminton racket, wherein the racquet extends along a longitudinal axis and includes a frame having a tubular hoop portion supporting a string bed and a tubular handle portion. <P>SOLUTION: The reinforcing member includes a generally T-shaped body having first and second sections 42, 44. The first section 42 has an outer surface 58 that defines a first cross-sectional area measured about a longitudinal cross-section positioned generally perpendicularly to the string bed 22. The second section 44 longitudinally and outwardly extends from the first section. The second section 44 has an outer surface 60 that defines a second cross-sectional area measured about a transverse plane. The first cross-sectional area is at least 50 percent greater than the second cross-sectional area.
