PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of efficiently using energy by switching auxiliary light according to photographing environment and radiating it to a subject. SOLUTION: The camera 1 has an AF mode in which the focusing of a photographic lens 11 is performed according to the result of range finding by an AF sensor unit 71, and an MF mode in which the focusing of the photographic lens 11 is performed in response to manual operation. Then, the auxiliary light is radiated from an electronic flash light emitting part 41 toward the subject if the subject is the low-luminance one when performing the focusing operation by the AF sensor unit 71 or the focusing operation by the manual operation. In the camera 1, an LED for AF auxiliary light 48 different from the electronic flash light emitting part 41 can radiate light, and the electronic flash light emitting part 41 radiates the light in the AF mode and the LED for the AF auxiliary light 48 radiates the light in the MF mode.
