<p>The present invention relates to a new process for preparing diisopropyl { [l-(hydroxymethyl)-cyclopropyl]oxy}methylphosphonate (2), which is a key intermediate for synthesizing an antiviral (particularly, against hepatitis B virus) nucleoside analogue.
