An electro-optical device and an electronic apparatus are provided to enlarge the color reproducing range by using a cyan sub-pixel, and suppress the decrease in the brightness of the entire display screen due to the increase in the number of sub-pixels divided within one display pixel by using a white sub-pixel. An electro-optical device comprises an LCD panel(30) and an illuminating device(10). The LCD panel includes display pixels(AG) each consisting of a plurality of sub-pixels(SG). The illuminating device illuminates the LCD panel. The plurality of sub-pixels include at least two sub-pixels of a cyan sub-pixel(C) and a white sub-pixel(W). The plurality of sub-pixels further include a red sub-pixel(R), a blue sub-pixel(B), and a green sub-pixel(G).
