PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time required for forming an interface between hydrogen gas and air in an anode at starting of a fuel cell system and suppress deterioration of the fuel cell.
SOLUTION: At starting of the fuel cell system, a cut-off valve 10 provided in a hydrogen gas circulation passage 9 is closed and a purge valve 11 is opened, whereby a gas remaining in an anode 4 is scavenged by a gas circulation device 8, and the pressure of the anode 4 is controlled at a negative pressure (pressure lower than atmospheric pressure). A target value of the negative pressure may be changed according to temperature, oxygen concentration (or hydrogen concentration), and the time passed since the previous stop of the fuel cell. After the anode pressure is made at the negative pressure, a pressure control valve 6 and the cut-off valve 10 are opened and the purge valve 11 is closed, and hydrogen gas is supplied to the anode 4 and the fuel gas circulation is started.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
