Method of reconfiguring a communication device in a communication system

The method involves defining a new configuration of a communication device by a reconfiguration manager (RCM) attached to the communication device. The new configuration is stored in a database of the communication device. A software module is used for the new configuration of the communication device. A certificate is generated for the defined new configuration by a registration device (RS). The communication device is reconfigured by the software-module based on a verification of the certificate. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a communication device of a communication system, comprising a control device (2) a communication system comprising a software module and a reconfiguration manager.
