An unmanned method and system for monitoring vehicles violating a speed limit are provided to improve detection accuracy of violating vehicles by using a secondary detector to correct an error of a primary detector. An unmanned system for monitoring vehicles violating a speed limit includes a primary speed violation detecting unit(10) and a secondary speed violation detecting unit(20). The primary speed violation detecting unit includes a sensor(1) and an ALU(Arithmetic Logic Unit,2). The sensor detects the movement of a vehicle within a detection area. The ALU calculates the speed of the vehicle based on passing times at start and end points. The secondary speed violation detecting unit includes a camera, which sequentially takes images of a vehicle when it is determined that the vehicle is violating a speed limit. The secondary speed violation detecting unit compares the images with a reference displacement and finally determines whether the vehicle is violating the speed limit. |
