A davit for a rescue boat is provided to rapidly launch and retrieve a rescue boat in an emergency and maintain uniform pulling force a rope for launching and retrieving the rescue boat. A davit for a rescue boat includes a pressure accumulating unit(A), a lower post(B), a slewing bearing(C), an upper post(D), a platform(E), a boom(F), and a hook(G). A rope hanger is formed at one end of an upper portion of the boom to catch a rope connecting a hoist winch(e1) performing a rotation operation winding or loosening the hook or the rope to which the rescue boat is connected. A spring is compressed or extended by the rope hanger ascending or descending as the rope is loosened or is pulled. An automatic tension system(f1) includes a limit switch transferring compressed or extended information of the spring to the hoist winch performing a rotation operation of winding or loosening the rope.
