PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide bead coating method and a slide bead coating apparatus, in each of which a stable bead can be formed all over the width direction of a coating liquid, the coating liquid can be applied onto a web in every corner even to a selvage part of the web in uniform thickness and even when the width of the web is changed, the width of the coating liquid can be changed without stopping the operation of a coating line. SOLUTION: A discharge liquid 15 to be discharged from a nozzle 58 is superimposed on both edges of the coating liquid 14 flowing down on a slide surface 40. As a result, since the bead can be formed stably at both edges of the coating liquid, the coating liquid can be applied onto the web in every corner even to the selvage part of the web. The width of the coating liquid can be regulated by forming a thick coating film 14A at both edges of the coating liquid 14 by the nozzle 58. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
