An apparatus and a method for detecting a reception signal information are provided to obtain primitive information in a receiving terminal by performing an FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) mode detection, a guard interval length detection, a frame synchronization estimation, and a fractional frequency offset estimation. An FFT mode detector(100) determines a receiving FFT mode of a receiving signal from a max power value, whose a conjugate complex number multiplies with the receiving signal and adds as much as a predetermined window. The conjugate complex number is obtained by using a FFT mode delay in the receiving signal received from multi paths. A guard interval length detector(200) takes a first move window average of the max power value from a guard interval length of the receiving FFT mode and determines the guard interval length of the receiving signal.
