PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain stable output even when an inkjet head is driven at a high speed and the ejection frequency is high. SOLUTION: It is judged according to recording data whether or not an adjacent pixel adjacent to a target pixel at the rear side in a main scanning direction has a droplet (106) and it is judged whether or not the droplet of the adjacent pixel is a fine ink droplet (108). When a recording data value of the adjacent pixel is equal to a recording level value of a fine ink droplet, all the thresholds TH1, TH2, TH3 are temporarily changed to be ones each greater than a maximum value of the pixel value (110). When the recording data value of the adjacent pixel is equal to a recording level value of an intermediate ink droplet or a large ink droplet (108), only the threshold TH1 is temporarily changed to be one greater than the maximum value of the pixel value (112). By comparing a peripheral error addition pixel value with each of the thresholds TH1, TH2, TH3, either one of the recording level values is selected as the recording data value of the target pixel (114).
