The pillar (1) has a fiber-reinforced plastic insert (4) placed inside the hollow post (3) anchored to positioning surface (18) of ground (2). The upper boundary (8) of the insert is above the ground level and the lower section is fixedly connected to the post by bolts, welds or adhesive joint (5). An independent claim is included for method for causing pillar to collapse in controlled manner.
