A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to increase a driving margin of the plasma display device by effectively erasing wall charges, which are accumulated in a cell after a sustain period. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel,500), drivers(502,503,504), and a pulse controller(501). The PDP includes scan, sustain, and address electrodes. Negative sustain pulses are alternately applied on the scan and sustain electrodes during a sustain period. During an address period, a data pulse is applied on the address electrode. The drivers apply signals to the electrodes to drive the PDP. The pulse controller controls the drivers, so that a narrow pulse, which is narrower than the negative sustain pulse, to one of the scan and sustain electrodes at the end of the sustain period. The narrow pulse has the same polarity as the negative sustain pulse, which is applied on the scan and sustain electrodes during the sustain period.
