An LCD is provided to reduce the terrible noise due to direct friction between a light guiding plate and a mold frame, by forming a friction preventing layer between the light guiding plate and the mold frame. An LCD panel is configured to display an image. A light source is disposed on a rear surface of the LCD panel, and supplies a light to the LCD panel. A light guiding plate(70) is configured to send the light emitted from the light source toward the rear surface of the LCD panel. A mold frame(40) supports the LCD panel and the light guiding plate. The mold frame has a friction preventing layer(41). The friction preventing layer reduces the frictional resistance due to contact between the mold frame and the light guiding plate.
