PURPOSE:A composition for oral cavity having improved astringency and powdery state by addition of silicate, good feeling in use, capable of providing a desired flavor, obtained by using both the silicate and a specific higher aliphatic alcohol liquid at normal temperature. CONSTITUTION:A composition for oral cavity such as toothpaste, wet dentifrice, etc., containing (a) 5-90wt% silicate as a polishing agent and/or (b) 0.1-5wt% silicate as a lustering agent or a binder is blended with 0.01-10wt%, especially 0.05-3wt% based on the total amount of the composition of 16-18C higher aliphatic alcohol liquid at normal temperature, containing at least one unsaturated bond and/or branched structure, such as jujube alcohol, etc., to give a composition for oral cavity having improved astringency and powdery state of silicate characteristics and good feeling in use. Since the alcohol is tasteless and odorless, the alcohol can be blended with a desired fragrance providing agent and fragrance is freely supplied. |
