摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device constituted by providing a catalyst body 2 provided with many thin exhaust gas passages extending so as to open on the upstream side and the downstream side in an exhaust gas path from an internal combustion engine to promote rise of temperature in the catalyst body when starting the internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: A cavity 7 is provided in the inside of the catalyst body 2 so as to extend from the upstream side to the downstream side, is opened on one end face 2a on the upstream side of the catalyst body, and is blocked on the other end face 2b on the downstream side of the catalyst body. A partitioning plate 8 for partitioning the inside of the cavity into a first passage 7a and a second passage 7b is provided so as to extend in the direction of axial line, and the first passage and the second passage are mutually communicated in a part adjacent to the other end face 2b on the downstream side of the catalyst body. At least a part of exhaust gas flowing from the internal combustion engine into the catalyst body flows into the passage 7a on one side among the first and second passages on one end face 2a on the upstream side of the catalyst body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
