<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accelerate the mixture of liquid drops of different kinds as to a mixing apparatus used for a chemical analyzer of an EWOD system. <P>SOLUTION: In this mixing apparatus for a chemical analyzer, a first substrate with a common electrode disposed on its surface and a second electrode with a drive electrode line 22 disposed on its surface are disposed substantially parallel to each other on its surface are disposed with their electrode surfaces directed inward. Blank areas 241 to 243 are formed in at least one of electrodes 231 to 233 constituting the electrode line.
