534,104. Valve circuits. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. Dec. 18, 1939, No. 32442. Convention date, Jan. 12. [Class 40 (v)] The conductance of the input circuit of an ultra-high-frequency amplifier 10 is neutralized by connecting an inductance 20 between the external cathode terminal and an earth terminal which is connected by a condenser 21 to the external grid terminal. This counteracts the effect of the inherent inductance 16 in the cathode lead and the effect of the transit time of the electrons, and also the effect of the inherent capacity 15 between cathode and grid. The screen grid is for high frequencies returned to earth through a condenser 23. In a modification, a resistance is also included in the cathode lead, while in a second modification separate bias potentials are applied to the control and suppressor grids. Specification 514,073 is referred to. |
