PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component which is inexpensive, provides high picture quality and has high reliability. SOLUTION: The optical component has a first member (2) and a glass second member (1) joined on opposing surfaces (1a) (2a) of both members with a photosetting adhesive (3), wherein the adhesive (3) is a cation polymerizable epoxy adhesive showing 3.4×10<SP>-5</SP>to 4.5×10<SP>-5</SP>(°C<SP>-1</SP>) coefficient of linear expansion, also showing 4.2×10<SP>-5</SP>to 5.1×10<SP>-5</SP>(°C<SP>-1</SP>) coefficient of linear expansion when the optical component (11) is left to stand at 80°C for one hour.
