A system for automatically assembling a backlight unit is provided to significantly shorten the process time for assembling the backlight unit, by automating the coupling of constituent components including a light guiding plate and a prism sheet. A pallet module(300) positions a pallet on the conveyer and positions a cover bottom on the pallet. A light guiding plate assembling module(400) positions a light guiding plate in the cover bottom. A first diffusion sheet assembling module(500) positions a lower diffusion sheet above the light guiding plate within the cover bottom. A prism sheet assembling module(600) positions a prism sheet above the lower diffusion sheet within the cover bottom. A second diffusion sheet assembling module(700) positions an upper diffusion sheet above the prism sheet within the cover bottom. A support main assembling module(800) positions a support main above the upper diffusion sheet, thereby finalizing the assembling of a backlight unit.
